Bérubé, Mélanie

Dr. Mélanie Bérubé has been an assistant professor at Laval University and a researcher at the CHU de Québec – Laval University research center (Population Health and Optimal Health Practices – Trauma, Emergency and Critical Care Medicine research unit) since January 2019. She has extensive clinical expertise in trauma and critical care, areas in which she worked as an advanced practice nurse and clinical manager.

Dr. Bérubé’s research focuses primarily on the prevention of chronic pain and the chronic use of opioids in trauma patients. To this end, she is mainly interested in the development, evaluation and application of knowledge related to interdisciplinary strategies to be implemented in the patient care continuum (from critical care to rehabilitation and up to back in the community). Dr. Bérubé is the director of the initiative for the prevention of adverse effects related to analgesics of the Quebec Pain Research Network.
