9th Scientific Meeting, a “virtual” success

The June 2020 CTRC Meeting was forced to move to an online-only format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that did not stop many scientists and students from our community for participating in high-quality project presentations related to traumatic brain injury. Over 100 scientists, students, research coordinators and knowledge users attended last week’s presentations.

For the first time, the Trainee Day took place in two “virtual” rooms in parallel with 28 presentations and a panel discussion. The Main Scientific Meeting was condensed into one day, focusing on new projects in development as well as brief updates of current ongoing projects.

We would like to thank all the presenters and participants, scientists and trainees who were able to accommodate the change in format and effectively adapt to the revised program initially planned for our in-person meeting in June 2020. It is important that we continue to discuss our research projects and to maintain the community spirit of the CTRC in these challenging times, as patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries are counting on us to maintain the rapid pace of lifesaving and quality of life progress.
