Teel, Elizabeth
Dr. Elizabeth Teel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology at Concordia University. She completed her PhD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017 and her postdoctoral training at McGill University in 2022. Dr. Teel’s research integrates kinesiology and neuroscience to enhance the diagnosis and clinical management of pediatric concussion. Specifically, her lab investigates changes in brain structure and function following concussion and develops effective treatment interventions to improve clinical outcomes and neurophysiological health after injury. To achieve these goals, Dr. Teel employs cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques, aerobic exercise programs, and comprehensive clinical assessments. Ultimately, her research aims to reduce the risk of repeat brain injuries, promote earlier initiation of treatment, support safe return-to-activity decisions, and improve both short- and long-term quality of life for individuals affected by concussion.
