Shultz, Sandy
Dr Sandy Shultz is a Research Chair and Professor at Vancouver Island University where he established and directs the Vancouver Island Centre for Trauma & Mental Health Research. He is an international leader in the field of brain injury with >170 research articles and >$60M in funding related to this topic. His lab applies a translational approach that involves parallel clinical and preclinical studies to provide complementary insights into brain injury pathophysiology, biomarkers, and treatments. His more recent endeavours have focused on brain injury due to intimate partner violence, psychedelic-assisted interventions to improve recovery, and improving the care of brain injury in older adults.
