Heather Shepherd, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Western University. She is a registered occupational therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Heather completed her PhD in Kinesiology with a Specialization in Rehabilitation at University of Calgary and a Postdoctoral Fellow in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at University of Toronto.

With her research group, Heather uses patient/partner-engaged methodologies to design, implement, and evaluate concussion and post-injury management programs for adolescents including return to school and peer support. Also, her research group aims to understand concussion and injury experiences in power wheelchair sport athletes. She uses qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches to conduct these research projects.
