Allison, Ted

Dr. W. Ted Allison is Professor and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. Allison’s research interests include engineering zebrafish as preclinical animal models of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Alzheimers Disease (AD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), epilepsy, sepsis, and rare diseases. This animal modelling typically has goals rooted in precision medicine and (high-throughput) in vivo screening of therapeutics.

Dr. Allison holds multiple memberships and leadership positions at the University of Alberta, in the Centre for Prions and Protein Folding Disease, the Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute, and is an adjunct Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics.
